Come and enjoy a fun-filled family event at St Jude's Family Fair on Saturday 20th March 2010, 12noon to 10pm.

There's something for everyone including music and entertainment,
rides for all ages, children's activities, a big variety of stalls and attractions.

Attractions

	Rides for All Ages Many rides to choose from suiting all ages including Tornado, Giant Slide, Cha Cha and Merry-go-round.		Stalls Galore Over 24 stalls including our famous Trash & Treasure trove, Book Stall, Preloved Toys, Raffles & Gifts, Craft & Knitted Goods and the Plant Stall.
	Scrumptious Hot Food Including our big Aussie Barbecue, Hot Chips Stall, our very popular International Food Stalls and Indoor Cafe featuring freshly baked cakes and scones.		Face Painting Very popular among the children. What design will you choose? ... a tiger, spiderman, clown, butterfly or your own design?
	Entertainment Extravaganza Musical and dance entertainment live on stage featuring performances from our school and youth bands.		Side Show Alley Laughing Clowns, carnival amusements and introducing for the first time this year ... a series of battery operated dodgem cars for the kids.
	Big Wheel Many, many great prizes to choose from when you win on the Big Wheel, a traditional and very popular stand at the fair. Wait for the spin to see who wins!		And Also... Fairy Floss, Drinks Stand, the Ice Cream Stall, a On-The-Go Refreshments Stall run by S.J. Youth Group, and much, much more...

Congratulations ... to all who contributed to the success of this year's Fair.

Thank you to everyone - parishioners of St Jude's; the school communities of St Judes, Holy Trinity and St Mary's; to those who attended from the local communities of Scoresby, Knoxfield, Wantirna South, Ferntree Gully, Rowville, and from the surrounding areas within the City of Knox and Melbourne; sponsors, contributors, donators, work colleagues, families and friends - for supporting this year's St Jude's Family Fair.

Ride Prices

All ride prices remain the same as last year. Adult rides $5, Kids rides $2, and All Day Wrist Band for $35.

There is also a number of new innovations this year including a Sri Lankan stall, a Side Show Alley and a series of battery operated dodgem cars for the kids.

Let's Party with Wobbo! Wobbo the Clown has been entertaining children and the young-at-heart at the St Jude's Family Fair for many years. He takes great delight in making people feel happy with Gags and tricks, and a little bit of magic.

Trash and Treasure

Trash and Treasure The shed will be open on Saturday morning between 10am and 11am.

Save our landfill and give those items a second chance ... please bring along any unwanted usable items ... check your cupboards, store room, attic and garage at home.

Here are some ideas: bicycles, furniture, car accessories, trailer parts, home hardwares, gardening tools, furniture, electronics, mower bits, garden statues and gnomes, cow bells, office machinery, computer parts, unwanted relics, bric and brac, boat parts, caravan bits, old DVDs and CDs, pottery, old video games, kitchen appliances, chairs, tables, lamps, sound equipment, sport equipment.

Please note, unfortunately, we are unable to accept mattresses, clothing or footwear.

Drinks

A can of cola only $1.50.

Many of our favourite food and beverage stalls are on again this year including the Cold Drinks stand, the Hot Chips stall, fairy floss, ice cream and a variety of food stalls, not forgetting the big Aussie Barbecue.

Toys

Unwanted toys - toy stall We are in need of pre-loved and new toys, games, puzzles, or any similar type of children's toy that we can place on our Toy Stall. This is a very popular stall which will be situated in the parish hall come Fair day.

Toys can also be brought along to the shed on Saturday morning between 10.00 and 11.00am.

Cakes

Cakes at the Cafe We are looking for volunteers to bake a cake, make scones or short bread etc for our cafe. If you have a few moments to spare over the couple of weeks maybe you can help and bring your delights along to the cafe Saturday morning. The cafe will be situated in the hall.

Big Raffle

2010 Big Raffle Seven prizes in total plus a Book Sellers prize draw. 1st Prize is a "Travel Package" of your choice to the value of $8000.

Tickets $2 each. Tickets may be purchased on the day of the fair at the Big Raffle stall. Prizes are drawn 20.03.2010 at St Jude's Family Fair, George Street, Scoresby at 8.00pm. Please refer to ticket for details, terms and conditions.

General Goods

Unwanted books - book stall We require shortbreads, cosmetics, jewellery, bottles of wine, any merchandise or items that can go into our 'Raffle & Gifts' stall. Gift vouchers, admission passes, new clothing and electronic equipment ... if you no longer require it we will take it. Bring your goods along to the shed on Saturday morning between 10.00am and 11.00am, or contact us to arrange for collection.

Preloved Books

Unwanted books - book stall Novels, children's books, fiction, non-fiction, reference books, encyclopedia sets, new, near-new, old, computer books, business books, health, cooking books, history books, religion, science, sports ... please bring those unwanted books along to the shed on Saturday morning between 10am & 11am. Our book stall is one of our most popular stalls at the St Jude's Family Fair.

Local Community

St Jude's Family Fair is held annually as a major fundraiser of St Jude's Parish. The fair has become a tradition since the early 1980's when it was then known as the 'Bargain Bonanza'. Since then it has grown into a major event for the local community with people coming from Scoresby, Knoxfield, Wantirna South, Wantirna, Ferntree Gully, Rowville, Bayswater and further afield within the City of Knox and Melbourne.

It is estimated that over 2,000 people visit the Fair. The visitors come from within the parish community of St Judes, the school communities of St Jude the Apostle Primary School, Holy Trinity Primary School, St Mary's School for Hearing Impaired Students as well as associated senior schools of Mater Christi College, St Josephs College, Emmaus College, Mazenod College, Avila College, Aquinas College and includes students, past students, parents, grandparents, friends and neighbours.

Many people work hard to make the fair a success, and its not only from the commitment of the people involved. While this event raises valuable funds for our parish, it also builds community spirit among all the people involved who support as well as offer their time and talents to this endeavour.

This year's fair will be held on Saturday 20 March 2010. It commences at 12 noon allowing for a relaxed afternoon with family and friends, and concludes at 10.00pm.
